Bridge 'Karel van Dijk' Eindhoven | The Netherlands (2010)
The lighting installation underneath the bridge near the Professor Holstlaan is a tribute to civil servant Karel van Dijk, who died in 2010. Karel was known as a bridge builder and among other things he initiated the development of the Dommel zone. The work of art is therefore not directly visible, but can only be viewed via the water surface of the Dommel. In this way the name of Karel van Dijk is literally linked to the Dommel that he loved so much. The rippling image also refers to the 'Panta Rhei', the idea that everything in this world is transient; everything changes, nothing is permanent.
