The Philips Bedrijfsschool is a municipal monument with a rich history in education. Architect Dirk Roosenburg designed the building in the late thirties; due to war damage, the structure was reconstructed in 1949 on the old foundations. Subsequently, the building underwent numerous modifications to accommodate various educational organizations. In September 2019, under the design by Diederen Dirrix, the latest renovation transformed it into loft residences. The original design remained a crucial reference point. The new lighting for the facades and circulation spaces is crafted to emphasize the hierarchy of the architecture. In the prominently visible stairwells, the lighting is designed to create colored, dynamic patterns, and effects.
